THIS IS A DEMONSTRATION VERSION ONLY.  
IT IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL, THE ONLY LIMITATION IS A
BLACK LINE THROUGH EACH BARCODE IMAGE.


IMPORTANT:
You must have OLE 2.0 or higher installed on
your PC before you can use BAROLE 2.5.

You must have:

compobj  dll
mfcoleui dll
ole2     dll
ole2     reg
ole2conv dll
ole2disp dll
ole2nls  dll
ole2prox dll
stdole   tll
storage  dll
typelib  dll

If you don't have all these file located in your windows
system directory then BAROLE may not run correctly.

You can get these files from Compuserve by downloading
the file BAROLE_X.ZIP from the WINSHARE group.

1.  Last minute changes
====================================================

a. Ratios
---------
There are now 7 ratio levels to replace the previous
3 levels.

The new ratios are:
                
                
	NAME        	DDE/OLE index for the RATIO Property
	------		-----------------------------------             
	Normal			1
	1.75    	      	2
	2.00            	3
	2.25			4
	2.50			5
	2.75			6
	3.00			7

You should adjust the ratio setting if you are having 
problems scanning the barcode images.  Some styles
scan better with a higher ratio such as 2.75 or 3.0.

b.  New ini settings
--------------------

If you have problems with in-place editing in OLE client
applications then set the "AllowInPlaceEditing" flag to
0 in the barole2.ini file.

Eg:	[Options]	
	AllowInPlaceEditing = 0


c. Switching the barcode data and text positions
-----------------------------------------------

Normally the barcode data string is shown below
the barcode and the user text is shown above the
barcode.  However, for most barcodes you can
swap the placement of the text and data, by selecting
the Switch Data/Text Positions option in the Options
menu.

The corresponding OLE property is:

	SwitchText    type BOOL

The corresponding DDE command is:

	SWITCH_TEXT 	parameter TRUE or FALSE

FALSE = Data below and text on top
TRUE = Data on top and text below.

Switching data/text is not available for
EAN8/13 and UPC/A and E.

2. Installation Instructions for BAROLE version 2.5

(1) Run SETUP.EXE from Microsoft Windows 3.1 

or, to manually install...

(1) Copy all OLE 2.0 files to your Windows System
    directory

(2) Create a directory and place BAROLE2.EXE 
    CTRL3d.Dll, BAROLE2.HLP in it.

(3) Run OLE2.REG if you haven't had OLE 2.0
    on your machine before.

(4) Create a group called BAROLE 2.0 
    and place icons for BAROLE2.EXE and BAROLE2.HLP

(5) Run BAROLE2.EXE /O to register it as a server.




NOTE:  All files with a _ character at the end, must
       be uncompressed using expand.exe.
